Baby it's HOT outside... and Disney buddies

Yup. Not only hot but downright nasty and humid.

I stupidly decided to go on a run during a late lunch at work (3pm) This is perhaps the hottest part of the day and I nearly died.

4.3 miles in 30 minutes-- very slow... Note to self, and to my blog buddies: schedule my next run early in the AM or later in the PM.

DISNEY

I am liking my decision to run Disney more and more. Not only does it promise to be a cool race and for a great cause-- but some blog buddies are also running-- Brian and B.o.B. both are running the half which means at least one better have a cold beer waiting at the finish line :) There is also a great network of others . People like my new pal Paul (thanks Brian) who are from Buffalo! There is even a Facebook page for those running.

This is pretty cool.

  1. DISNEY! Woo! One of my running buddies and I, each time we increase our mileage sing " A whole new world (don't you dare close your eyes!)" Although it's not a great tempo for a run, might be worth putting on your Disney playlist for a laugh...!

  2. I am not liking this humidity one bit.

I'll be at Disney as well, doing the Goofy!

  3. Hm. I am not running the half at Disney this year. Did I confuse you (or myself) somehow? Or is this just some ploy to get me to run it? I will however be out there cheering on a friend who is running it. So I'll see you either way!

P.S. Make sure to refer back to your notes often. Running in the heat sucks arse.

  4. Thanks for the words of ecouragement Patrick! hey really do help.

Yes - I made just a couple of tweaks to my diet yesterday and things went a lot better. Thanks for the advice.

And you get to meet up with b.O.b and Brian! Man I'm jealous! But not jealous nough to hop a plane to FLA. Have a cold one for me!

  5. If I ran 4.3 miles in 30 minutes, I'd probably write "fast run" in my log unless I was trying to do it at threshold pace. Then, it would be "slow". Take it easy there cowboy. Keep the easy days easy and the quality days fast.

Don't run too fast in the marathon. I might not be out of bed to see you finish.
